Life for slaying Canadian husband

29/08/2009

A provincial court in Ranong has sentenced a Thai woman to life imprisonment for masterminding the murder of her Canadian husband last year.

The Ranong provincial court on Thursday found Maneerat Henry, Amornsak Katekaew and Jinda Sae Tae guilty of conspiring to murder Dale George Henry on February 3, 2008.

Their sentences were commuted from the death penalty to life in prison after they confessed to the crime.

The wife admitted she had contacted her ex-husband Amornsak to hire Jinda to shoot Henry, whom she claimed was a drunk and beat her up regularly.
