Finnair with direct Phuket flights
Airlines are adding new capacity from northern Europe to Thailand with direct flights from Oslo to Bangkok and Helsinki to Phuket.
Finnish airline Finnair said today that it will use an Airbus A330-300 from its own fleet to operate a seasonal leisure service from Helsinki to Phuket in Thailand.
The nonstop flight will run four days per week from November 2009 to April 2010.
The 271-seat wide-bodied aircraft to be used for the Phuket service this winter is one of Finnair’s five long-haul Airbus A330-300s.
The Nordic region is one of the most lucrative markets for the tourism sector. Despite the global recession, Thai Airways recently launched a direct flight between Bangkok and Oslo, Norway – in addition to direct flights to Stockholm, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark.
