Thailand has approved an Bt18 million budget to set up Andaman sea rescue centers in a bid to restore confidence among tourists and the image of tourism in its Andaman coastal provinces.

A massive magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck at 1:55 am off the Andaman Islands – north-west of Phuket. The quake has triggered a tsunami watch for Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.
